The International Forum for Young Scientific and Technological Talents of the South and Southeast Asian University Network (S&SE ASIAN UN) was held on Oct 21 at Yunnan University (YNU) in Kunming, capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

Hosted by YNU, the forum attracted 43 representatives and young scientific and technological talents from 18 universities and research institutes in 11 countries in South and Southeast Asia. They discussed the current frontier dynamics and possible application areas of technological innovation.

At the forum, Li Chenyang, executive secretary general of the S&SE ASIAN UN and vice president of YNU, said in a speech that the forum meant for making future development plans for the S&SE ASIAN UN more realistic.

It is also hoped that through joint efforts, the forum can make a positive contribution to the common economic and social development of China and South and Southeast Asian countries, Li said.

Participants discussed topics such as priority areas and methods of scientific and technological cooperation among member universities of the S&SE ASIAN UN, and international exchanges and joint training of scientific and technological talents, and put forward suggestions for the future development of the S&SE ASIAN UN.

The forum was part of a series of activities for the 4th Yunnan Conference on the International Exchange of Professors. Its slogan was "scientific and technological cooperation, innovation, and development".

Li Chenyang, on behalf of YNU, signed an agreement with a representative of high-level talents at the forum.
