According to the Constitution of South and Southeast Asian University Network, Hebei University of Science and Technology (China) has been accepted as the member of South and Southeast Asian University Network.

Introduction

Located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, with an area of 2,427 mu, Hebei University of Science and Technology (HEBUST) commenced higher education in 1956 and had cultivated over 300,000 outstanding graduates for the country. HEBUST has 21 teaching schools (and departments) and 63 majors at the undergraduate level, covering engineering, science, literature, economics, management, law, medicine, education and art. At present, it features 9 provincial key disciplines and 1 provincial key development discipline, with 1 discipline included in the World-class Discipline Construction Project in Hebei Province and 2 disciplines included in the National-class Discipline Construction Project in Hebei Province. HEBUST is in ESI Top 1% in four disciplines, namely Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Agricultural Science. HEBUST now has 2 first-level disciplines authorized to award the doctoral degree, 28 first-level disciplines authorized to award the master’s degree, and 18 categories authorized to award professional master's degree. At present, it has more than 28,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and international students, and more than 2,200 faculty members, including 1058 holding senior professional titles.

HEBUST has carried out exchanges and cooperation with 163 universities and research institutions in 48 countries and territories, and currently has 1 Chinese-foreign cooperative educational institution and 5 similar projects. It has nearly 40 projects approved for projects and platforms at national and provincial levels, including the science and technology cooperation projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, an international science and technology cooperation base, the workstation of foreign academicians and a 100-foreign-experts project, offering 15 English-taught majors and recruiting international students for the degrees of bachelor, master and doctor from more than 40 countries and territories. It has been approved as a recipient institution of the International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship and named a "Gold Medal Partner for Chinese Language Alliance Digitalized Education".
